Silent conversation #2 - creativity In schools

I agree with Cecelia Conrad when she brings up the point that "creativity flourishes with new inventions.... but society rewards a structured and anti risk taking program.". I believe this is true because in my school, everything is very structured, except for Art in which you can choose to express yourself in different styles. Teachers usually say the try to make a class more creative but you still have to choose from options on how to do your own work, so the creativeness even becomes structured. Although Cecelia says she doesn't believe that creativity is endangered I do. By putting the youth of our earth through a structured program it could kill the creativeness and make a society where you jus keep your head down and don't take any risks.

  1. I agree with you 100%. Schools should teach kids to be different, and the loss of creativity would not be a problem.

  2. Ben I couldn't agree with you more. I especially agree with what you said about teachers giving you options but those options only box you in more.

  3. I agree with the fact that we're putting the youth through a structured life, slowly decreasing the amount of creativity they have.

  4. Ben we basically said the same thing. I definitely agree with you when you say that most classes are structured and that they don't really allow for creativity.
